A local fixture for over 40 years, the Brookline Farmers Market proudly supports local growers, producers, and artisans. The market is an easy drive from our Cambridge apartments, and you can shop on Thursdays between 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Our favorite vendors include:
When Chris Avery and Matt Baumann decided to leave their jobs as lawyers, they opened Boston Smoked Fish Co. The guys hand select the fish daily from area docks. They pair the fish with the finest herbs and spices before smoking it to perfection over North American hardwood. The selection includes smoked sockeye, Ragin' Cajun smoked salmon, and smoked steelhead trout pate.
Kevin and Kate O'Dwyer met as students at UMass Amherst. Today, they own Langwater Farm. Before establishing Langwater, Kevin worked as the head grower at Wards Berry Farm. He started working there at 14 and is the most passionate about growing tomatoes. Along with this bright red fruit, you may also find cauliflower, arugula, and eggplant. The offerings depend on the season, and the farm's vegetables are certified organic.
Growing up, David Valicenti learned to make pasta from his family. After honing his skills at various restaurants, he began making his own pasta sauce. David used the tomatoes he grew behind his family's home, and soon created Valicenti Pasta Farm. Everything is made in small batches. The products feature the finest, freshest ingredients. You can also pre-order your favorites online for easy market pickup. In addition to the sauce, the selection also includes spaghetti, lemon basil linguine, and caramelized butternut squash ravioli.
The Brookline Farmers Market is open through the last Thursday before Thanksgiving. After enjoying some shopping fun, kick back with a good read from a local bookstore. To become a resident of Luxe at Alewife, please contact us. We'd love for you to see our apartments in Cambridge firsthand.
