A quick run to your local bakery offers an opportunity to find something unique every time, whether it is a loaf of crusty, fresh-out-of-the-oven bread, a delicious croissant or cookie, or perhaps even a pie. To help you find something to your liking, here are just a few bakeries near our apartments in Cambridge.

IGGY'S Bread of the World

From the beginning, IGGY'S Bread made it its mission to offer bread of the highest quality ingredients. Since then, they have delivered the best bread and branched out to provide a delicious lunch menu and scrumptious pastries. From sandwiches like the Italian subs, vegan BLT, broccolini, or prosciutto to the traditional pizza flavors, there is plenty to grab for a quick bite. Choose from many bread choices to go with just about any meal, from classic French bread, rich brioche, healthier ancient grain, whole wheat, or 7 grain. Consider their croissants, cookies, or sticky buns and puddings for something slightly sweeter.

Petsi Pies

Pies, pies, pies! Since 2003 Petsi Pies has been serving up some of the best pies in Massachusetts. Every pie is baked fresh daily without using any fillers in their recipes. In fact, its founder Renee "Petsi" McLeod has been doing this all her life from her early baking days. The bakery offers sweet as well as savory pies, so you have plenty to choose from. Choose from classic apple or blueberry pies, brown butter pecan and chocolate bourbon pecan pies, Mississippi mud, or seasonal pumpkin pies. Try their savory bacon leek and gruyere or roasted vegetable and kale with feta pies. No matter your choice, they are all delicious!

La Saison

The history of La Saison Bakery began in 2007 in Tehran, Iran. It continues today in Cambridge after the founder of the bakery migrated to the United States. Since its opening, the bakery has been serving up delicious baked goodies. It includes an excellent variety of sourdough bread like fig-walnut, cranberry-pecan, apricot-pistachio, as well as plain or organic sourdough. For a little bit of something sweet, try out the Madagascar vanilla bean pound cake, a classic French croissant, pain au chocolat, or Kouign-amann.

After spending an afternoon horseback riding, visit one of the local bakeries near Cambridge to pick something up for a quick meal or a sweet treat before heading home.
